"The present four pieces are a selection from 12 saxophone quartets, which I wrote over a period of about 4 years for my ensemble at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig, Germany. The entire cycle of quarters has also been recorded on CD for Lakia Records (Lakia 3510315.2). Although the pieces draw from jazz music, they cover a wide variety of styles and leave plenty of room for improvisation. Be careful to follow the tempo markings to make these quartets sound really good.
