The Presbybop Christmas Eve Band is a special holiday version of the acclaimed Presbybop Quartet. For a dozen years, the Christmas Eve Band has thrilled the jazz lovers of Northeastern Pennsylvania, playing intriguing and swinging arrangements of favorite seasonal tunes.
Under the musical leadership of jazz pianist Bill Carter, the band includes some of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s finest musicians, including bassist Tony Marino, drummer Marko Marcinko, and saxophonist Mike Carbone. For the WVIA recording, they will be joined by guest trumpeter Jeff Stockham and vocalist Warren Cooper, with whom they have performed at the 2012 Scranton Jazz Festival.
A week after their WVIA live recording, they will offer a free benefit concert for the courageous victims of Hurricane Sandy, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
