The Low Down: A Guide to Creating Supportive Jazz Bass Lines

This is a comprehensive jazz bass method book representing my philosophy of bass line construction, from beginning to advanced levels of understanding. After being frustrated by a lack of books with strong pedagogical insight on this topic, I took it upon myself to write a method that I believe accomplishes teaching the basics of sound production, layout development, and walking line construction. The word how is the driving force of the pedagogy in this method —through numerous examples, explanations, and supplemental recordings, I hope to provide the insight for the reader understand how I make decisions and apply the same thinking to their own playing.
